USER RESEARCH & PRODUCT DESIGN at MERCARI

As a sole user researcher, I worked on the development of a sister app for Mercari, focusing on the resale of designer items. During the app development, my research focus was to uncover the pain points and needs of our potential target users. Post-launch, I conducted in-depth interviews to enhance usability, and my team swiftly addressed the identified pain points, resulting in a significant increase in the selling rate.

Following this success, I transitioned to lead the user experience efforts for a new communication app within Mercari's startup division. My responsibilities included conducting generative research, involving interviews with over 50 university students to gain insights into their online communication habits. Additionally, I conducted in-depth interviews to assess and refine our prototype.
