INCLUSIVE DESIGN for ALL

A card deck and a workshop for creatives to learn and practice inclusive design

A practical tool designed to be used in a group activity-based workshop to help you design more inclusively and generate new ideas while promoting collaboration and enhancing teamwork.

Suitable for all levels of creatives, this tool can help make your designs more inclusive for a diverse range of users.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this project was to cultivate a culture of inclusivity within the teams, empowering them to consistently prioritize the diverse needs of user groups throughout the product development process.

By creating cards that specifically addressed situational disabilities—those temporary limitations we all encounter—I aimed to encourage participants to put themselves in the shoes of users, promoting empathy and enabling them to internalize the principles of inclusive design.

LEARN cards

Start by learning about inclusive design using LEARN cards in order. Read the information on the back of the card as a group to learn about inclusive design, why it matters, socio-economic benefits, examples, etc.

USER cards

USER cards prompt participants to imagine themselves in the shoes of the user depicted on each card. These cards focus on situational disabilities that are commonly experienced in everyday life, rather than permanent or temporary disabilities, which helps them to better understand the experiences of diverse users with different needs.

How: Participants will draw one card from the USER card deck. Allow each participant to take turns sharing their personal experiences related to the disabilities mentioned on their assigned card with the entire group.

DESIGN CHALLENGE cards

As a group, draw one card from either the SERVICE DESIGN or PRODUCT DESIGN challenge card deck depending on what suits your team better. You can shuffle them or even come up with your own design challenge.
